Why Become a Member?

Membership in the Edmonton Scottish Society is not just for expats. Membership is for anyone with an interest in Scottish Culture.
Membership includes access to our events that are scheduled every year over year, in addition to other gatherings and events that occur.  Membership is for a 365 day period from the day you register as a member, renewal is due on the 366th day to maintain membership.

Many of our current membership have been a part of the Edmonton Scottish Society for years, first joining to gather with other expats. As emigration declined those members had families who also became members of the Society. Those families became friends and continued to meet.

From the 2016 Canadian census 4,799,010 people in Canada list Scottish as their origin. from 2011 to 2016 140,000 people immigrated from European countries.

Members of the Society receive admission to our yearly events such as the Highland Gathering. Other events are held for our membership such as Dinners, Whisky tastings and others. We host member gatherings such as BBQ's, Santa etc.
Members get discounted pricing on our Etched Whisky and Manchester Beer Glasses, hats and other swag. Discounted pricing on our Registered Tartan.

Members also get discounts on food and drinks at our pavillion and while we currently have a discount program set with another venue we are exploring more options to be value add to the Membership.

For the Winter season of 2022 we will have created a flooded ice rink and a cross country ski track around the property. Members have access to these facilities free of charge.
