By the early 1960's the Society has established a vibrant and committed membership of about 500 people. As its 1967 Canadian Centennial project, the Society acquired a 20 acre parcel of land at Ellerslie with the hopes of developing its own facilities. In 1972 the Society completed development of the Great Hall, meeting rooms and kitchen facilities. Many committed volunteers were essential in getting this huge project of the ground. These facilities now host a myriad of activities from the monthly Society meetings for the membership, to the annual events like St. AndrewÕs Dinner, Robbie Burns Night and the Highland Gathering.
Soccer fields have been added over the many years and today the ESS is proud to host the menÕs Scottish Team and womenÕs Angels soccer teams. Our fully ÒfixturedÓ soccer pavilion with four locker rooms and the six soccer fields attract hundreds of players each month during the soccer season.
